Director/Pastor of Worship Arts  (Full-Time)

Manteca, California, is a rapidly growing city with thousands of new homes being built, good schools, and close to a variety of recreational activities.  Manteca is within a 2-hour drive of Sacramento, San Francisco, and Yosemite National Park.  

Overview

To work with the Lead Pastor and gifted volunteer worship leaders, musicians, and technicians to cultivate meaningful worship services that lead our church family in deeper connection with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Expectations 

*  Model a personal and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

*  Support the mission, values, and statement of faith, including all policies and procedures of Calvary. 

*  Support the Lead Pastor in the accomplishment of the church’s mission, core values, and vision.  Carry out ministry assignments as requested.

*  Be a team player and a collaborative team member on the church staff. 

*  Attend meetings in relation to job responsibilities.

Specific Responsibilities

*  Coordinate with lead pastor in designing and leading modern worship services (Thursday & Sunday)

*  Lead worship for mid-week Wednesday morning outreach worship service. 

*  Oversee bands, vocal teams, and tech teams. 

*  Oversee part-time tech team staff assistant & one part-time musician.  

*  Provide spiritual leadership and encouragement to worship team members.

*  Recruit, audition, and train those involved in worship ministry.

*  Lead weekly rehearsals and cultivate Christ-centered community.

*  Use Planning Center for order of services, volunteer scheduling, and all facets of worship ministry 

     communication (with several weeks' advance notice to all participants).  

*  Coordinate and oversee music for special worship events, including holidays, all-church worship nights, and children’s events.

*  Create and implement new stage designs as needed.

*  Responsible for creating and overseeing the Worship ministry budget & maintaining all equipment/instruments.

Qualifications

*  Mature and growing follower of Jesus with a strong passion for inviting others into connection and community within the local church, its people, and ministries.

*  Friendly, relational, with a genuine faith that people gravitate towards. Humble, teachable spirit with high emotional intelligence.

*  Excellent worship-leading, vocal, and musical abilities.  Proficient use of chord charts.  The ability to read musical lead sheets is helpful. 

*  Proficient use of ProPresenter, Planning Center. Experience with lighting is a plus.  

*  Leading with guitar preferred.  

*  Strong servant-leadership and communication skills.  Team player is a must.

*  3-5 years of previous worship-leading experience in a church similar in size and style to Calvary. 

*  Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

*  Self-motivated equiper, trainer, recruiter, and builder of teams and groups.    

*  Proficient with online modes of communication, including social media platforms.

Compensation

*  $ 55-75k annual salary based on education and experience.

*  Competitive salary dependent upon experience & education.
