My wife Colleen and I moved to Manteca in 2010 when we asked the Lord to bring us to a place that would be strategic for ministry. We have hosted and led Life Groups as well as served in leadership for women’s and men’s ministry. I also volunteer with Calvary's Living Well Ministries once a week. I have a passion to see believers be fully engaged in becoming strong disciples of Jesus who are also making other strong disciples of Jesus. I have 2 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.
Jim and Betty Anne have 3 grown sons and have lived in the Greater Manteca area since 1992. Jim was formerly on staff as Administrative Pastor from 1999 to 2017. Currently Jim is volunteering as Minister of Congregational Care on a half-time basis. Previously Jim has been a church-planter, re-started churches and served as a Lead Pastor. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, a Masters of Divinity degree, and has completed all Doctrinal requirements for the Doctor of Ministry degree from Talbot Theological Seminary. His passion is to see people grow in Christ and serve Him.
I've been the Children's Ministry Pastor at Calvary since 2002. I have a sweet German shepherd named Disney. Yes, I love Disneyland and all things Disney. I oversee a vibrant children's ministry that includes Sunday mornings (Nursery – 6th grade), AWANA during the school year, Bible Day Camp in mid-July, and two children's choirs which perform in May. I also oversee the Monday – Friday Preschool Lions N' Lambs. I have been in ministry for 30 years.
I grew up in a Christian home, but never really lived the way God wanted me to. I was living a double life, and it was burdening my life in ways I couldn’t believe. However, during my 8th grade year, I encountered God at Hume Lake Christian Camps and my life was changed forever. I finally received the love, healing, and identity I had been longing for. I got into ministry to share the Jesus I had encountered, in the hope that others could experience Him as I have. I have my Bachelor in Criminal Justice at Sacramento State University (2011), and a Masters in Theology from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburgh, Virginia (2016).
I grew up in Vietnam until my family immigrated to San Rafael, CA in 1994. I enrolled as a part-time student at the Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in the Fall of 2005, and graduated with a Master of Divinity in the Spring of 2014. During those 9 years, I worked full-time for Wells Fargo Bank and Chase Bank while ministering to youths and young adults in San Francisco on the weekends. I met my wife Rachel on a mission trip to Malaysia in 2006, and we got married in 2010. Rachel and I enjoy traveling, trying new foods, and learning about different cultures. My favorites hobbies are: playing soccer and reading good books. I love to connect with young adults about God and life over coffee.
